Hmm, the picture doesn't look like the new model.

Hey Chris. You are right. It is the older model. I'm still pretty excited to try it out and see how it looks (it's so tiny).

Can't beat the price at $16.

As for mounting, I think I can clip it right onto my current mini tripod.

Tom,
It should still produce a very high quality image for you at 16 bucks even if it is a refurb. That's an amazing low price and will probably buy a few just to add around my house. They are definitely tiny and can be mounted almost anywhere. Let me know when you get it up and running. Anxious to see it.

Ok, I just installed the latest Logitech Notebooks Pro with the Carl Zeiss lens if anybody is interested in seeing it. I'm super happy with it!  The detail is incredible and have to admit I think they are better than the original Pro versions. This cam is located at a bait shop in Cape Coral so you might see a lot of activity during the weekend from boaters and fisherman.

There is nothing like a Carl Zeiss lens...  Surprised they can put a Zeiss lens in a product at that price point.

A little soft around the edges, but a really nice image... nice color... gotta keep my eye on those for when they go on sale... it's the 9000 model, right?

Just received USB to Cat5 extenders (Vigor brand) for $40 from Newegg, so far they work great with my Canon S30 point and shoot that I'll be using for hi-res images soon...

I'm installing a new webcam very soon in the downtown Cape at a local business with this gadget. This will slowly phase out my homemade enclosures. I even added a little touch to it with some decals from the local hardware store to expose my site to the public. For 50 bucks you can't go wrong with the bracket and enclosure. As soon as I find the links to the enclosure I will post but this may be an option for you if you plan on relocating your cam to the outdoors.

Is this the Swann brand? The reason I ask is that I'm very close to purchasing a Pro 9000 and have just stumbled across the Swann enclosure on a site here in NZ

http://elive.co.nz/view_product.php?product=dv0218&search=enclosure&search_category=

I'm wondering how easy it will be to fit the Pro 9000 into one of these for mounting on a J-pole outside.

It's actually made by Clover. You can get the enclosure and bracket for about 50 bucks.

Bracket    http://www.contractorsav.com/product/MBK010

I'm not sure how hard it will be to mount the 9000 since I've never physically seen one. The Notebooks pro fits into this enclosure like a charm and was very easy to mount.

Here is the same enclosure but with heater and blower.
