Topic: Why does the Sensirion SHT 31 rarely goes up to 100%

I'm trying to figure out why the SHT 31 doesn't register 100% easily and if it does hit 100% it's rare? I remember one of my SHT 11s hit 100% fairly often. The surrounding stations (Airports & RAWS) easily tops at 100% whereas the SHT 31 typically tops out at 98-99%. Even the sensors that Campbell Scientific uses tops at 100% and those sensors usually have specs around +/- 2-3%

I'm afraid with the new updated digital sht31 specs they went +/- 3% in the 90-100% range for max tolerance at 25C.  So 97-98% may be as good as it gets. I tested one of the test board versions in a plastic bag the other day using hot cloth and got 100.8% so it actually went over at about 40C temperature.

I wouldn't if the RH isn't at 100%

Hmm.  Maybe it's possible that the sensor is performing well or better than the Campbell or ASOS/AWOS? Probably being wishy washy here. Lol

Maybe the reason why the SHT 31 doesn't reach to 100% often is due to a small sensor chip?
