VP2
OK. The VP2 does not calculate the altimeter as does the Vue. If you want to be as close to OCF as you can set your console altitude to ZERO and dial in their altimeter setting, preferably in "benign-ish" conditions and around 29.85 to 30.00, if you can. Won't be completely accurate, but close, except for somewhat higher and lower pressures.
Thank you!
OCF to my north is at 30.20 while VVG to my south is at 30.09. Probably split the difference.

I only see 2 near you I would trust. Both airports currently 30.21 and 30.20

I started checking all the reporting stations in the area and they are all in the 30.20 to 30.22 range except for KVVG which is at 30.10. Obviously that data is incorrect. Sent an email off to the the KJAX weather office that they need to fix that problem.
KVVG is not an NWS/FAA site, hence the poor data. Your local WFO has no responsibility here and can do nothing about the error. Here's a listing of your ASOS/AWOS ect. sites. https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/weather/asos/?state=FL

Also if you go to the NOAA Weather Hazards and Data Viewer it comes up there as an official reporting station also.
The weird thing is though if you zoom into the station location it shows the location as someones house. Strange :???:

Although now that I think of it it may be a COOP station.

If you have the Home version of win10 I used method #2 on friends and stopped the reboot problem. If you have pro you can use Method #1, but won't work on Home version.

This has me curious as it does show it in a neighborhood. Using google ruler (my first time 8-)) go about 49 degrees and 410 yards from the pin you'll see a stand alone building in a field that might be the station. Very possibly is COOP. Please let us know what, if anything, you find out.

KVVG is an AWOS located in the open field 562 feet SSE of the water tower just west of Hacienda Hills Golf Course. The pressure sensor is not accurate as noted.

Found it, thanks! Any idea why it's there, (besides the obvious, I mean, no airport around and uncalibrated to boot (stranger yet), and why can't I find it here? https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/weather/asos/?state=FL

You are exactly right sir.
It's 1.57 miles from where it's supposed to be.

Information is very vague on it. It's located on the Sharon L. Morse Owl Preserve property.

The webmaster of the Weather and Hazards Data Viewer got back to me.
Said according to him the station is in the right location as per the coordinates but also said he is in Utah.
He said KVVG is under the Jacksonville jurisdiction so I should contact them, which I have.
I await their response.

KVVG is actually under the Tampa WFO but they do not maintain those AWOS sites. I don't know who is responsible for those in FL.

Most AWOS's are operated and maintained by the FAA, ASOS's by the NWS. Some AWOS's are local government or privately owned. I suspect this is the case here, especially considering there's no airport around.

Been 5 days since I set the barometer to KOCF.
Happy to say that it is mirroring that station.
Would like to see what it does when a good cold front comes through but
nothing due for a long time. Just that darn Chamber of Commerce weather.
Yuck.

Sent out a couple emails regarding the location of KVVG and the incorrect barometer.
Finally after it went through several people they did find that the location was wrong and the pressure was also bad.
Here's the first one I received back.

Wasn't sure who to send this to, but this guy has been writing people all over the place about this, so he is making a big deal out of it for some reason. I for some reason always thought that KVVG was just south of our CWA but I could be wrong about that.

And here's the one I received today.
All,

Dave is correct, the pressure is 3.4 mb too low this afternoon and the location lat/lon is bad.  I will contact Victor at SR HQ to see if he knows who owns this one.
