I'm not sure if the included EasyWeather software will upload or not, but Cumulus will.

I'm having a problem with corrupted readings on my station right now.  If I can't get it cleared, I'll have to go for a replacement.

Is Cumulus free?? If not, how much does it run for??

Merry Christmas and congrats on the new station, Joe!  8-)

I use Cumulus myself and think it would be a great choice.  Enjoy your new toy!  :-)

NeonDesert -- what brand weather station are you using Cumulus with? I currently am using WSDL with my WMR200A and am considering moving to something different (easier to use and down-load data from).

A Davis VP2 but the 200A is also supported.   ;)

How difficult is it to integrate Larry? and Thanks!!

Not difficult at all, in my opinion.  I would recommended using the built in templates and move forward from there.
Ken also has a fantastic set of Ajax templates that work with Cumulus here http://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplates/index.php

Congratulations!

I received as weather station for xmas last year - great present!  I, too, use Cumulus.

Instructions on how to set up a website are included with the help files in the program as well as on the wiki:

http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Main_Page
http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Website_setup
http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup

the forum is also a good source of information:  http://sandaysoft.com/forum/

It is a fairly straightforward set up.  I suggest reading through the help files and wiki.  Then give it a try - best way to learn  :-).

Good luck and enjoy your station.

Kerry

As Kerry pointed out, the Cumulus wiki has an extensive set of help files and should get you started quite nicely.
If not, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help tomorrow evening.

Farmtalk,

Merry Christmas to you.

If it is any consolation/help, when I initially set up my website, I knew nothing about how to go about doing so, but by following the instructions in the help files and on the wiki, with some false starts and duh moments :-), I did manage to get a website up and running.  Take your time and you will be up and running.  If you get stuck there is plenty of help here and on the Cumulus forum.

Farmtalk, Merry Xmas and congrats on receiving your station! Here are some guidelines suggesting optimal sensor placement . CWOP has some suggestions too but I keep seeing "unavailable" messages when trying to access that page. If you locate the temp/humidity sensor in it's supplied shield out in the open, like suggested for best results, you will need to replace that supplied shield with one designed for weather exposure. You can either purchase one or make one yourself like others have done on here.
Have fun!

Thanks! I am going to try and get one of Kens templates to work to put my weather data on, and mount the weather instruments tomorrow (In an open field 8-)), and then i will calibrate and if all goes well, will have the actual station working tomorrow :-)

I would suggest doing things in the following order:

Get your station mounted and working.
Load your software.
Create a WU account and get your data loading reliably there.
Then work on getting your data to your website.

Once you have data uploaded to a web site you can join the Mid-Atlantic Weather Network, one of the several regional nets.  You can also join AWEKAS, an international weather collecting and display site based in Germany.  These require that you have your weather data in a text file that is available to them, and this is most easily done by placing this file on a web site accessible to the public.  Without a web site, just your station and a computer, you can upload to WeatherforYou/Hamweather and Weatherbug, as well as WU and CWOP.

Before you get too gung-ho on signing up for a bunch of places, get the sensors mounted and monitor the station locally for a while for accuracy and reliability.  Maybe a few weeks.  Compare to NWS and your local TV/radio stations and other stations in your area. You may have to move the sensors around a couple of times.  You don't want to start pushing bad data out to the world.
