Severe Storms in region of High Pressure

    I was scanning around with my radar tonight and noticed severe storms down in Louisiana.  I have surface fronts ect on my radar and a high pressure sybol was right next to the line of storms.  I check a weather map and there was indeed a High pressure system there.  Does this happen often? :-k
