I have compiled enough information to make an informed decision and no longer require feedback for a decision. But continued feedback is always welcome!
Here is my thoughts, and let me know if I'm completely wrong. I know enough about networking and communications but I dont know much about these products yet.
This will be my first weather station, but I'm not sure what my long term requirements are. I would like to start learning before I submit erroneous information to the weather servers.
As I see it, my options are as follows:
OPTION ONE ($275 plus shipping)
a. WS-1400-IP gets me direct to internet servers and remote viewing of data (wish they had android wunderground compatibility) $150
b. Later if I decide I want a console indoors to graph with and make it easier for my wife to see weather information I can add it for $125 plus shipping when in stock. I'm really not sure yet if there is an advantage to having a indoor console.
OPTION 2 ($275 plus shipping)
a. WS-1200 gets me the monitoring in home and lets me get used to using the equipment before I become a public nuisance submitting data to weather servers. $220
b. ObserverIP module to add to the system at a later time when I want to start sending data. $55 plus shipping when in stock.
OPTION 3 ($265 plus shipping when in stock)
a. I just wait and get the WS-1200-IP when it comes back in stock and have everything at once. Is there really a negative to this besides the waiting?
OPTION 4+
Are there better options using combinations of systems from Ambient Weather?
I considered the Davis Vue but I would still have to buy the $200 weatherbridge kit, correct?
Thanks in advance for your help and patience!
