HW for 2800 series update.
« on: April 17, 2010, 10:58:10 PM »
I just checked with the LaCrosse software page http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/2810/index.php to check the ws-2800 HeavyWeather program and see version 1.3 is available. It has a "Keep weather station in high-speed communication mode" selection added in the Extras, Options windows. I haven't had ver. 1.3 loaded long enough to see what this does yet. It appears the data logger issues mentioned in other threads, like printing duplicate entries, may have been addressed as well.

Hello,

In France, we ara on 1.5 version. This correct the possibility to zéro of rain 24. the other correction is that I find in windows registry this entry :
DWORD OldRainSensor = 0 or 1.

In option window, it's possible to stay connexion beethen PC and station. This option is very usefull for sofware that use the file currdat.lst (as Wuhu).

Since more week, I try to start a server meteo. Now is good. But when I have tested it, I have discover that connexion beethen PC and station is very sensible
of Wifi connexions. In first Wifi and 2800 Key is very near (less than 2 cm). In this case, station can be must be a distance of less than 3 meters. After I have deport 2800 Key with cable (1m). In this case station can be distance of 6 meters.

In all case, the distance between the station and the probe thermometer must be less than 6/8 meters.

You can now see my station on this site : http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?call=DW4682

best regard

Hello pschnell.

There must be some differences between the U.S. and overseas 2800 models. The U.S. versions are still on version 1.3 software. This version added the "high speed communication mode" between the p.c. and station console I believe you mentioned. I noticed that with this version if my p.c. gets rebooted it will reconnect automatically with the station console without having to manually resync as before.  Also, the data log would occasionally record mirror image, or double, entries. V 3.1 corrected this also. Has LaCrosse in Europe corrected the double rainfall measurement problem?
regards,
Dan

LaCrosse has a ws-2800 series HW Pro upgrade (V1.5.4 and V1.5.4B, 26 April 2011) online at their site if any 2800 users are interested.
