Oh Great, looks like chunks of 'forecast.weather.gov' are down

(1/2) > >>

Jstx:
Most of the point forecast WFO and ASOS Current Observations are showing "NULL" or "NA" for Central and South Texas now.
Happening elsewhere?

BrianLehan:
Same up here in Connecticut most of this past week.
--- Quote ---The detailed point forecast weather data is not currently available.
The zone forecast data for CTZ002 (Hartford) will be displayed
until the point forecast data is again available.
If this persists, contact the NWS Boston / Norton, MA WFO
at 508.622.3250 or email at box.webmaster@noaa.gov
to have them update the point forecast for /gridpoints/BOX/18,39 on api.weather.gov

I think its due to more continuing issues with the weather.gov api in use at the moment. If I go to the map myself the forcast is the same as what the script is picking up, only the link to pin point is missing. I have other cities such as San Fransisco, LA in my pull-down and they all say the same message basically.

Make sure you're running the 5.09 version of advforecast2.php (JSON) -- there were issues with prior versions detecting a point forecasts (due to changes in the JSON returned by api.weather.gov.

BrianLehan:
Thanks Ken.

That fixed a many of the forecasts for locations in my pull-down's, so I guess the others really are not available.

saratogaWX:
Try adding a ?force=1 to the URL you see in the browser on the feeds having an issue. That forces a cache refresh for the point forecast.  If you still see the zone forecast and message, then the point forecast really isn’t available at that time.
