Topic: Browser URL Icons

I know there's a name for those icons, but I don't remember it.  However, I notice that the NWS is changing theirs for some reason.  I notice that WU changed theirs when they remodeled the site.

I am attaching a picture of the old and new url icons for nws.  The new icons are 10 and K and the old (darker blue) icons are C and N.  Has anyone else noticed this?  I could see the old icons better.  The new ones look kind of florescent.  I wonder why they have to change things that are ok to start with?

Looks like they're using the NOAA logo instead of the NWS logo for some reason.

    Never knew they had a name but should have suspected as much.  I did notice somplace along the line they had changed because I have 12 of them on my favorites bar.  It was very close to the same time I noticed WU had changed cause all of a sudden there was an icon that I did not recognize.  I believe I noticed these about 2 weeks ago.  But time seems to be flying by so fast it is hard to know as I really did not pay a lot of attention to it.  Actually I thought my memory was just bad and that things really hadn't changed until a week after that point.
