« on: August 02, 2013, 06:17:20 PM »
Was wondering if anyone can help me with my dd-wrt linksys router port forwarding?? I've tried everything to get 192.168.1.108:800 to pick up on my public IP address 50.129.82.87:800 its for my d-link 930L cam so I can save upload times to my server and actually have a live stream so i can use Image Salsa plz and thanks below is what i have so far and yes UPNP is enabled. because in the settings UPnP Port Forwarding   Port open success.

Port Range Forward

Application   Start   End   Protocol   IP Address   Enable
D-Link 930L 80  800  TCP    192.168.1.108   yes

I had something similar happen to me. The cause was disabling a firewall in the IP cams settings software. Make sure UPNP is enabled in cam settings as well.

If you have UpNP on the router enabled, typically it will not require you to manually set up port forwarding, as it should register the device(s) properly in the table.  If not, then the device isn't really true UpNP.  I have a Foscam 8910W that works superb in this respect (however I have two ASUS RTN16 routers that have a third party firmware).

Try this Mike. When selecting the protocol type select both to use UDP and TCP.

heh...  Are you trying to connect to it from inside  your network??  Because when I try that addy it says DSC-930l and asks for User ID and PWD?  You have to be OUTSIDE your network to see it.  USe the browser on your smartphone (no wifi) or  vampire onto the neighbour's wifi and you will see.

That link is a class C address (for internal networks) and as such, no one not inside your network will ever see it.  You need to give people the public WAN ip, not the interal LAN ip as you've done.

You can find out what you WAN ip is at http://whatismyip.com

If you use this address:

http://50.129.82.87:800/video.cgi?resolution=VGA

Then I see video but it doesn't look like anything is there.

A tip - if you are using your internal network to access the camera, you will need to use the internal IP.  If you want external sites to retrieve it, you will need to use the external site.

In other words, if you are on the same network the camera is on, you CANNOT use the public wan address like I show above to access it, because most routers do not know how to handle the DNS loopback.  It's easier to just use the internal IP for usage at home.

I'm seeing something.  It's black with a few horizontal flashes from time to time.  But I can tell there is motion to the page.

50.129.82.87:800 with your UID/pwd credentials allows me to see your Dlink webcam pages.  And yes, it is night.  So you HAVE PFed.

I'm not sure how webcam7 works, but from inside your network, if it's an ipcam, you'd have to use http://192.168.1.108:800 as the base address.  If you tell webcam7 what kind of camera it is, it may know what to do after that.

Are you sure the port number is not 8080

Unless W7 is specific, it is whatever he PFed to.

Use 192.168.1.108 for Host IP and whatever port you forwarded to. When setting it up I recommend using Network Camera 640x480.

Off topic but I got an Axis 211 shipping!

no. When I go to this 50.129.82.87:800 I get a username and log in. That tells me that your camera is forwarded to port 800 but the outside world can't view it since its password protected or in the camera settings is not set up to direct to the home page?
