Home Brew WX
« on: December 08, 2011, 03:07:21 PM »
Hey guys, I'm getting some ideas together on some projects that I want to work on with the team here and share the video on our website. I am finding that lots of us like to tinker and experiment with all these weather devices. Are there any "home-brew" projects you would like to see related to AcuRite products?

A few ideas already in the works:

1. home-brew battery compartment AC power adapter for the 5-in-1 sensor (using an existing or store bought power adaptor and some "dummy batteries").
2. siting and mounting techniques for sensors

Any other projects you all would like to see and/or discuss?

Thanks!

Would there be a market for a "headless" console that's simply a USB interface and radio receiver packaged similarly to the network bridge?   I could see a cheap PC interface being useful to people beyond the WX circle, like someone looking to monitor/graph their refrigerator, solar array temperature, or any number of other things that your available sensors can measure.  There could be a lot of home brew uses you never even considered if the PC interface hardware was cheap enough.....
WU Gold Stars for everyone!

I'd be interested in this feature.
