Will my Rainwise Mk III report to CWOP?
« on: December 24, 2014, 07:15:27 PM »
Will my Rainwise Mk III weather station report to CWOP?  What would I need to make this happen?

EDIT - My interface to the Internet is a Rainwise IP-100.  That apparently rules out Weather View 32.  Am I right about that?

It says requires computer interface, whatever is involved there.

I'm assuming the computer interface referred to is the Rainwise cc-3000 that passes the data to your computer, and of course the computer has to be on 24/7.  My IP-100 sends data direct to Rainwise.net with no need for a computer.  I can view it online as an excel spreadsheet.  I don't know if there is a way to get the rainwise.net data to CWOP.

Weather Display http://www.weather-display.com/index.php  will pull data from a IP-100 or a CC-3000, and it will send it to CWOP or to a dozen other places.

+1 for Weather Display. Good program.
I live in an apartment and for the moment am not a home weather watcher.

I am a storm chaser.

I've used Weather Display for many years and would highly recommend it. However it is strange that your IP-100 according to the documentation supports the following but not CWOP. I'd suggest you contact Rainwise to see if they have any plans for including CWOP.

RainwiseNet supports live links to the following web partners:

    Weather Underground
    WindAlert
    iKitesurf
    iWindsurf
    SailFlow
    Fishweather
    WeatherFlow
    PWS
    AWEKAS

I emailed them this question just before the holiday.  Haven't heard back yet.

I'm surprised it doesn't go to CWOP. Have you checked the APRS software to see if it was compatible. Thats what I used originally before software started to include CWOP.
Edit: Looks like it works for the Davis stations only.

I have a IP-100 and looking on my Rainwisenet>settings I have Weather Underground,  AWEKAS, PWS weather, and Weather Flow as the only options for auto send, I do not know if the others got dropped and Rainwise has not updated their docs, or if it is that they plan to do the others listed in their docs in the future...  now as far as the IP-100 itself  your only upload option is Weather Underground if your not going to use Rainwisenet.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the info.  In reply #3 you mention that Weather Display will update CWOP from the IP-100.  Are you doing that with yours?

You can get a trial version of WD to try it out with your station.

That's probably my next project.  Right now I'm working on getting my webcam on the Internet.  Step 1 I got it running on a wired connection.  Step 2 it is connected wirelessly and is in place looking out to my front lawn from under the sheltered porch.  Next I have to figure out how to upload to WU.
