Topic: something neat on a Vantage Vue Console

We installed a Vantage Vue at our Justice Center about a month ago..the console is in my office and feeds to WU/CWOP. Anyhow, yesterday, I noticed on the console message
"Orionids Meteor Shower" was displaying...now that is cool..

yep...also says "kite flying weather" in certain wind conditions, " raining cats and dogs" in heavy rain, and there is some way to play pong with it, but I can't remember how I got there at the moment...

You know my VP2 will say raining cats and dogs..but it doesnt say anything about sky events..etc..

    It is the same with my VP2.  I often see "raining cat's and dog's" but nothing else.  But, I also don't look at the console very often.  I will have to correct that and keep a closer watch on the console!!!

to get that new info you probably have to get a new download from Davis for the console..

Just noticed the "ORIONIDS METEOR SHWR" memo 2 days ago.....!
Unfortunately, clouds have been numerous enough here to impede the view at peak time(s).....
Kind of a neat "extra", though!!

Only the Vue console shows the eclipse, equinox, meteor shower and solstice messages.

   All I needed to do was pay more attention to the console instead of just looking at the VWS on the computer.  I saw "Kite Flying Weather" today for the first time.
