MR3020 Meteobridge URL connection **solved**
« on: September 14, 2014, 07:39:48 AM »
Hi Folks, i am new to this forum and i am in need of some tech help as i am not computer savy, i have been able to get the MR3020 admin page going ok and have uploaded the Meteobridge to the MR3020 but now i can not now access either the MR3020 or a meteobridge.
Thae problem seems to be that i can not find the correct IP of the MR3020
I have tried some ip scaner programs and IPconfig with no success as i do not really know what i am looking for.
I have been going around and around for days on this.
If somebody could point me in the right direct.
Getting very frustrated with it.
Stuart

Since the MB talks wirelessly through your main router, have you logged into the main router to see what wireless addresses are in use?  On my vendor supplied Action tech I log in at 192.168.1.254  and then it shows me which wireless devices are attached (phones, tablets, laptops etc.  My Meteobridge is also listed there.

You will save yourself from this problem in the future as your router will probably assign it a different IP each time it is started unless you assign it a fixed/reserved IP in your router. It should have a page similar to this to do so.   This one happens to be a DLINK.

Click on this link when you are on the same net as your Meteobridge
http://magicip.meteobridge.com
At my home network this is displayed:
Code: [Select]
I found a couple of Meteobridges in your LAN...
1. Meteobridge TL-MR3020 (MAC A0 . . . :BC:40) with LAN IP 192.168.0.40 at 2014-09-04 17:26:31.
2. Meteobridge WL-330N3G (MAC 10: . . . :D9:1E) with LAN IP 192.168.0.48 at 2014-08-23 14:23:02.

This procedure is described in the Meteobriudge WiKi on this page: http://meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Getting_Started
Scroll down to Findout IP to find this and other ways to find the IP address.

Succes, Wim

I am getting ready to order and flash one of these myself. It seems the easy way would be to turn off the security on the router so that the new meteo... will be able to connect without being blocked? Then once you are able to verify everything is right and setup, turn security back on?

Beaudog,  that is a good idea, that is what I did with my printer and my acurite bridge.

I never had to turn off security.   Flashed fine.  You could also load to a USB stick and flash MB that way if for some reason your router is locked down.
