Awesome job!!!  Can't wait until I get back from this weekend and add this.  We can probably do the same with the tropical discussion but add more data once that flows.

Great work again and very quick!

Yes, well hopefully I will have time, because I have exams end of June, I already started revising and I will have to put more time into it in the upcoming weeks. And unfortunately I cannot afford to temporarily interrupt my part-time job, so it will be a bit difficult time wise - especially since I prioritize helping new users, fixing bugs etc. rather than developing new stuff.

Jeff,
Watching your site your CR image was there then it went to image outdated.  I see the image was about 20 minutes old.  Try increasing maximum image age.  I use 30 minutes.
Tom

Forgot to reply back.  All seems well now.  Thanks for the suggestion!!!

Hi Simon,
looking at the official SA weather site.... the problem is that for example the climate data are only available in PDF format and... sorry but Im not rewriting the tables into PHP :D And there is not much else, a forecast, which however is in a format that cannot be used unless I use HTML scraping (which I always try to avoid) and plus that wouldnt even have much added value since there are other blocks/plugins that have forecast for SA as well.

Meteotemplate - new plugin + updates
« Reply #2930 on: May 24, 2016, 09:55:01 AM »
Hi guys,
one new plugin and two updates.

New plugin – Scales
This plugin goes to the new meteorology section. It explains various scales used in meteorology to classify for example tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, wind speed and hail sizes. No need to set up anything, just upload and add a link to the menu.
DEMO: http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/plugins/scales/index.php

Plugin update – Weather Symbols
A new page was added that shows symbols used to describe pressure trends.
DEMO: http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/plugins/weatherSymbols/index.php

Block update – Station Data
The station data block, now in version 2.0, also includes times (and dates if necessary) of when the actual value was measured. Make sure you replace all the files.
DEMO: http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/indexBlockDemoNarrow.php?block=stationData

Enjoy
Jachym

New plugin added, plugin and block updated .  Simple and fast!

p.s. The scales definition is very informative. and like the time of day on the station data.  Thanks again.

Hi Jachym thanks for the plugins and updates , just one thing for the Station Data block there is no date time for the Solar it gives allways 'null' is this by design ? If not it's better to leave it away... http://apeldoornmeteo.nl/indexDesktop.php

Hi Ron,
I see why, the problem is that I do not have a solar sensor on my station so I didnt notice this bug because it will always show "null" for me. I see the problem now. Interesting that the block was downloaded over 50 times since yesterday and no-one said anything....

OK I will fix it sometime this week and release an update, thanks for letting me know.

Did you set the images directory correctly? Are the images uploaded to your server regularly?

Jachym

I've just been going through the updates and now blocks and plugins.  Thank you

A couple of things:

1) I cant see the cityConditions among the plugins for me to download.  Am I Blind?
2) The Marine Traffic - I've made a change to it to use MarineTraffic.com.  The number of vessels is considerably higher than vesselfinder.  It's also free

I should add a column with the plugin namespace... the cityConditions in the list is called "Weather around the world"

http://www.meteo.capetown/plugins/marine/marineTraffic.php - does not work for me, marinetraffic.com is problematic, Im not sure about the license and it does cause problems with cross-origin when loaded via iframe, which is probably why I see just blank window

Odd that it's not working for you - works across all browsers for me.

Have you given it time to load - it does take a little time

Sorry, Jachym not know what you mean, well, actually I have not the remotest idea that images mean, I believe that the configuration was automatically, not that I have to check.

An issue on the Data Check

For pressure it's picking up null values as outliers. I don't know if this is by design

Thats strange, it shouldnt do this, the formula it uses is:

Code: [Select]
if($row['P']>=${"maxP".$a}){
where the rowP is the actual value and maxP corresponds to whatever maximum you defined (a is the month 1-12)

Did you go through the settings for that block/plugin? Make sure that you correctly specify the directory with the images.

marine...

It's also doing the same when evaluating spikes.  I had a problem with the temp sensor and the barometer, hence no data for these at the time

Yes, with the spikes it does make sense because "null" is interpreted as 0, so when you have say 25 and then suddenly no value, it would interpret that as 25 deg difference.

But the pressure outlier doesnt make sense, because outlier is defined in case of pressure by exceeding the max, so if no data is available, it checks your defined max pressure with 0 and that 0 should not be greater than or equal to the max P limit for outliers

With regards to marine traffic... I remember I checked that site too and I remember I decided not to use it for some reason.... well I now went to that website again and finally found it:
