Post count
« on: February 28, 2016, 04:35:44 PM »
It is not something I would care too much about, but I am just curious why my number of posts remains the same after I post something....

I just noticed that I had 2476 yesterday and today I have the same, even though I posted about 8 or 9 posts today

EDIT: and interestingly enough now it added it, I wonder why, I tried posting several times in the testing zone and it added 1 in about 1 in 3 cases...

As an example, I don't think posts posted in the chit-chat area are counted as posts.

Correct,
Posts in Chit-Chat, Testing Zone and Posting Games do not increment your post count -- only posts in the other forums increment the count.

We did that a while back (2009) so that substantive posts would be reflected in the count for members.

Hi Ken, thanks for clarification and it makes absolute sense, though I think that sometimes it actually did increase the number of posts.... well either way it is not a bug then :D Sorry for bothering you.

No bother, Jachym... it's good to remind the members of how it works from time to time :)

Best regards,
Ken
