Title: Applied to join the owners forum
Post by: Andy Thompson on August 26, 2017, 12:32:22 PM
I applied to join the owners forum over a month ago. All I received was a confirmation email shortly after I applied saying my request should be processed soon. I haven't heard anything back since. I currently own version 2.50 of GR2Analyst and version 2.51 of GRLevel3. I thought it would be beneficial joining the forum to get the latest information on both of the softwares. Can someone assist me?

I cannot remember the application process. Have you tried logging in? Mike's usually pretty quick about getting those accepted.

No, I have not. If I remember right, the email said he would be sending me an activation code. I would then need to enter the activation code prior to logging in.

No, he's not all that quick.  Sometimes it almost seems like he want to blow the forum off altogether.

Send email to admin@grlevelx.com

See what happens there.

Yeah a forum buddy I talk to regularly said the same thing. I will shoot them an email and see what happens.

I can understand 2-3 days, but month? And if it is impossible to check this so often I would disable the approval requirement, this is very likely going to put off people if they have to long for so long

If you read some of his posts over there, you'll see he's not a particularly jovial sort of guy.  He can be quite short and persnickety (put that in your vocabulary pipe and smoke it :-) ).  He also seems to be overwhelmed at times.  Apparently he's essentially a one man show with little or no paid help.

Yes I understand that (very well :) ) but if I was in such situation I would disable the approval requirement. Although question is whether it would help, if he asked and had to wait for reply for months it probably wouldnt make any difference.

It took me probably 5 weeks.  The forum is not very active either.

The funny thing is that he finally sent me an email the other day and wanted my registration keys, that he never sent me! I replied back and told him that and haven't heard from him since.

GR is a great product but I think it's time has passed. Back in the day it was the had to have software but now with the advent of all the great smartphone apps it's becoming obsolete. Unless you have a website that you update to that is.
I know I haven't used GR3 or GR2 in a long time. No need to as I get all my info from my phone.
Also really surprised he never did a Android and IOS version. He just went with Windows.

And I've never used any of that on a phone, or pushed any of it to any website.  I use it for my own personal information on one PC at a time.  When away from home, I pull up the local NWS site for their radar if I need it.
