Help with new installation of Saratoga
« on: November 21, 2017, 08:28:29 AM »
I hope this is the right place to ask...
I have new install (and learning curve) to set up these Saratoga templates/scripts. I currently get this at the top of the page:
Code: [Select]
line) { list($vname,$vval,$vcomment) = explode("|",trim($line).'|||'); if ($vname <> "" and strpos($vval,'$') === false) { $WX[$vname] = trim($vval); if($vcomment <> "") { $WXComment[$vname] = trim($vcomment); } } $nscanned++; } if(isset($_REQUEST['debug'])) { print "\n"; } if (isset($_REQUEST["sce"]) and strtolower($_REQUEST["sce"]) == "dump" ) { print "
\n";
  print "// \$WX[] array size = $nscanned entries.\n";
  foreach ($WX as $key => $val) {
  $t =  "\$WX['$key'] = '$val';";
  if(isset($WXComment[$key])) {$t .=  " $WXComment[$key]"; }
  print "$t\n";
  }
  print "
\n"; } if(file_exists("MB-defs.php")) { include_once("MB-defs.php"); } ?>

I dont know how to fix this....  If someone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful...

Welcome! I know all about the learning curve. When I started it seemed so overwhelming. You will get it and love it. And this forum is an amazing resource.

Ok, so have you made ANY edits to the code or is this how it is right after upload? Without really knowing much myself and looking at the raw code, I would say there may...may... be a missing  "  or <  or  >  causing the issue? You may want to look right before that specific code to see if there are any missing.

Thanks for the quick response...

I've only changed the values in settings.php. I have not altered any code that I know of. If you visit parkviewx.com/wxindex.php  you can see the problem quickly.

Thanks..

Jeff

It COULD be a missing  "  or  <  or  <  in the Settings.php file too, I guess?

I see what you mean but looking at the website only confuses me more :) Hopefully someone who knows the template better can help you!

Yeah, looks like something is wrong in the changes you made to Settings.php.  Most likely an extra or missing quote.  Check for both " and ' (don't know how many times I've started a string with one and terminated with the other).

Could also be an unmatched brace / bracket: ( or [

This error set is caused by using the wrong template file in Meteobridge setup.

The template file must be http://www.parkviewx.com/gen-MBtags.php and that will generate the proper MBtags.php file.

In the Meteobridge setup it should have:

FTP      Every 5 minutes
Template:    http://www.parkviewx.com/gen-MBtags.php?comments=yes
Path (File): MBtags.php

make those changes, the press Reload Template to get the site working again.

Thank you so much!... I reconfigured meteobridge and that code on top is gone.. Things are working very well and updating fast.

Since you know your way around meteobridge may I ask you a question about a video cam? what script do you recommend to interface a video Camera to the Base Templates? I had success with both FTP and HTTP methods used by WU. My Ubiquiti UniFi Video Camera G3 can also stream live video by utilizing  RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) for live IP based video. Are you able to guide me to resources I would need to set this up? I am not especially adapt at programming and would offer to reimburse someone for their time and skill  setting this up for me.
I hope I am not breaking any rules by asking...

Thank you,
Jeff Goldrich R.Ph.

Hi Jeff,

Unfortunately, I don't have Meteobridge configured to use a webcam, so I don't have any guidance for you about that...
My webcam setup uses some ancient software (ImageSalsa V2) and a XAMPP service + custom PHP script to offer my 'real-time' image, and that setup is neither simple, nor portable.

Maybe others could chime in who have configured Meteobridge to use a webcam .. I suggest you start a new topic with that question in the Meteobridge board on this forum.

Best regards,
Ken
