Leaf Wetness sensor mounting location
« on: July 11, 2017, 09:39:09 AM »
Been trying to find detailed information on the optimum mounting location for this sensor. Have not had much luck with finding anything consistent.

How high off the ground should it be?

Which direction should the sensor face? (North, south, etc)

Should it be shaded at all? For example, mounted on the south facing side of a 4x4 post which would create shade from the north?. Or should it be in direct sunlight?

Should it be near trees/vegetation?  or out in an open field area?

If mounted on a post, should it be near the top to allow an unobstructed "view" of the sky? or is that not critical?

The sensor should be mounted so that the surface is at a similar angle to the leaves of interest. Leaves dry out in the sun so it wont really matter which way its pointing i dont think? yes it will dry quicker in the sun but then shaded it will dry slower but then that means that the leaves could be drying quicker...
Kind regards
