Some pretty well defined (both cat. 4's presently) typhoons. S/E China/Philippine area has to be sweating it at least a little.

Cool pic. Wonder if they will both make landfall in the same location?

The current predictions show the two heading in different directions. What a mess that would make if they did hit the same area.

Typhoon Goni had maximum estimated sustained winds of 130 mph while Super Typhoon Atsani had maximum sustained winds of 155 mph. Both heading towards Philippines, Taiwan and Japan.

Ooh, now that could cause a problem for lots of folks!!!  Would not be the time to be aboard a freighter or oil rig in that area, for sure!!!  Coastal living...might wanta look for the leeward side of some high ground.

The drought of hurricanes for the USA is interesting, looks like Danny might break the ice, though...so to speak.

At the present time, it looks like Atsani is going to make a right turn east of Japan and head north/northeast out to sea.  Goni, on the other hand, is going to make a right turn east of Taiwan and head for Japan.  Of course, that could all change.

As far as oil rigs are concerned, if there are any around there, would already have been evacuated by now.  Oil companies do that as standard practice especially in the GOM.

Maybe...that depends where the rig is in the gulf and where the storm is located and heading.
