A small NWS website change for the NEXRAD radar status reporting URL necessitated a change in the radar-status.php script to V1.11 (4-Jun-2015).

Standalone: download from the script page
V3 Template: use the update tool for Base-USA, Plugin-*, 04-Jun-2015 query

Edit: had to add stuff to handle the separate ftm.txt status messages page with the new NWS page.

Ok, all updated.

Too the opportunity to change the HTTP request headers to include a User-agent: string (in case that site has that requirement enabled) and added a $showAgeHMS switch to the settings to show age in hh:mm:ss instead of just seconds.

It's included with today's bundle of updates for Base-USA users.

Standalone update from the script page

N.B. -- the formatted text messages about the radars seems to be missing from the NOAA site (the 'click' link for it is returning a 404-not found for the ftm.txt file). I still try to obtain it, so when they get around to updating the site with the file, the applicable text messages should display.

No longer have the NEXRAD status line displayed at all. Tried both true and false for the active setting.

On which page(s) are you having the 'no show' issue?

Oops, I downloaded the updates and then overwrote the radar-status.php with the older version. Works fine now.

Yep.. they put a redirect from the old URL (and did some page modifications).

Change radar-status.php

Code: [Select]

  $fileName = "http://weather.noaa.gov/monitor/radar3/";

to

Code: [Select]

  $fileName = 'http://radar3pub.ncep.noaa.gov/';

to get it working again.. but the 'age' will be miscalculated since the new site is missing the Last-modified: header.

I'm working on an update.

Thanks, Ken! People should be aware that I modified your 'radar-status.php' script to use with the more general HAniS animated 'wxusradars-hanis3.php' scripts. It also needs modification in order to resume functionality. The newly modified 'radar-status-getradar.php' script can be downloaded from my site. I've used a temporary version number until Ken publishes his updated script.

Looking forward to any further modifications you deem necessary, Ken.

Edit 10:15 pm CDT: I've incorporated Ken's changes into the 'radar-status-getradar.php' script which is now also correctly versioned.

Got the fixed script. radar-status.php V1.13 - 3-Aug-2016 to handle the new URL AND the lack of a Last-modified: header (grrr).

Yes! Without Ken's latest code when the radar is down the timing since the last update will not be correct.
