Live Streaming Cameras for monitoring cloud formations
« on: August 13, 2014, 06:36:06 AM »
Hey there, I was wondering if anyone had an experience with webcams in relation to live streaming for monitoring cloud formations.

I have been shopping around and the Foscam's seem okay but in the comparisons I have seen, Dropcam seems to have the edge on picture clarity.

Any opinions out there?

Thanks!

Check out this thread for live examples of different cameras. I have not had good luck with Foscam cameras for sky pictures. Agasio is basically a Foscam sold under a different name. Here is another link for you to check out. The Panasonic BL-C140A & BL-160 work well.

Wow really awesome clarity!  May I ask what set up you are using?

Those are all USB Logitech C910 Pros or C920Pros, driven by Webcam7 Pro, with "The Hubble Fix" http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=19044.0 applied....
a few more examples from various websites at http://ourspecial.net/twinhollies/weathercenter/campage/
All for about the price of one AXIS or Stardot... more or less...
