W/L 5.7.1 basic operation
« on: January 15, 2008, 06:20:06 PM »
Before I get into the SET parameters I need some basic info.

1. Must I leave my PC on 24 hrs a day? I usually turn it on mid to late morning and shut it down at around 7pm after my daily backups.

2. Do I need to put WeatherLink in the startup for it to function on auto downloads?

1. If you're sending data to a web site or another service it's preferable.  If not it really doesn't matter... WeatherLink will download information from the data logger when it starts up.

2. I'm pretty sure when you start WeatherLink you need to open the display panel before it will download data.  But I may be wrong.  I don't use WeatherLink except for setting parameters in my Envoy.

Joe is "kinda" correct on this one.  Weatherlink will download if the display panel is not open; however, it will NOT download certain tag unless the display panel is opened (forecast, moon phase - I think, etc).  There is an add-on you can easily install in WeatherLink that will "auto load' the display every time WeatherLink starts.

UPDATE:

FWIW, here is the link to the add-on:

and two sources of info about the add-on:
