The tornado that went to the south of Hinton and moved past El Reno and Guthrie had at one time, tops exceeding 60,000 feet according to radar. I have shots of that.

I'll be posting these shots tonight here and in the GRLevelX Screenshots thread. It appears we have a well defined squall starting to form just east of the OKC metro area...snaking northward a ways towards the KS/OK border.

I just want to point out I'm never at home during these huge outbreaks.  Just once I'd love to follow these on me grx radar and not my phone.

Hope everyone in Oklahoma will be safe. A little late but I HIGHLY recommend building a tornado shelter in ones home if they live in tornado alley. FEMA even has diagrams on how to do so in an existing home:

http://www.fema.gov/plan/prevent/saferoom/fema320.shtm

IMHO, they should be "standard" in tornado alley homes, especially new homes. The costs are very minimal. Cheaper to build than getting fancy granite on your kitchen counter tops. The safe room will save your life.

I think that as long as everyone has some sort of shelter whether it be in or out of the home; just have some place to go in times like these.

Cool video from TWC of tornado in Oklahoma.  They are saying the pole is flying over the car but I think it is hanging from wires as there is another one on the right at the beginning.
7 deaths reported so far in this outbreak.

There are currently 20 tornado warnings active and 14 Meso's.  I can hardly believe that I was able to see 2 and probably 3 debris balls on GRL3! They also had some of the best SRV scans since Tuscaloosa.

Back above ground now.The sirens sounded and the wife made me get in the cellar(I wanted to watch my GR3 radar). Took the scanner and heard several reports of rotation in the town but no touchdown. Oklahoma City area looks to have been hit hard.

First the suburbs of OKC, then Dallas, then Arlington, and then what? Tulsa has already been under a tornado warning.....what other big cities in that area are left!?

Looking at gr3, just saw a tornado box appear over Joplin.  CNN-Anderson Cooper on in background on the tv, the sirens went on almost at the same time.

Well, we got through that storm probably better than our neighbor to the SW (OKC) did.  Tulsa Int'l Airport received a wind gust of 64mph.  Likely.  I was at a car wash bay about 2 miles south of the airport and pretty sure that would be the case.  I have a video that I cut off prematurely that shows some pretty impressive wind  at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpG4FRBM8ik

I do know a small town south of here (Haskell) is reporting four overturned semis, possible NG leak and a canopy from a gas station was taken off.  I was surprised; my power didn't go out once, but my anemometer never recorded over 22mph either.  We live in a depression that runs from west to east, so we lose a lot of wind velocity from microclimate.  Plus, I have a neighbor with a rather large (70+ ft) elm tree that he won't get rid of.

Looks like Stillwater is about finished...That is a nasty squall line, and their appeared to be a mean bow echo just north of Stillwater.

It was a good dose of weather drama here in Stillwater as this early evening became alarmingly darker than dusk with tornado sirens blaring.  Fortunately, it simply went through my east side neighborhood as a typical strong spring time thunderstorm with no very high wind or hail and close to an inch of rain.  However, at the Stillwater airport, the wind gusted to over 60 mph and caused one plane to flip over.  And on the outskirts of town near W. 56th and S. Western an apparent tornado damaged, if not destroyed a very large home.  Story about it here:  http://www.stwnewspress.com/local/x108199440/Tornado-destroys-home-in-southwest-Stillwater  Power lines were down along some roads in rural southwest Stillwater.  More reports may indicate more destruction to homes in the rural area.

How fortunate the circulation must have weakened and lifted just before actually entering the city limits of Stillwater, or maybe it was moving straight east and bypassed Stillwater.

I wish other towns under the threat of tornadoes have at least as much good luck as Stillwater as had.

Here are two more newspaper stories with pictures on damage in rural Stillwater.  It's believed the tornado was F-1.

No, it's hard to see a good view of the horizon from the yard.

Below is how the end of the tornado's path looked like when it came near Stillwater.  This at the the corner of S. Brush Creek Rd. and E. 19th. Large power poles got snapped off for around a quarter of a mile on west of here.

Looking west to the opposite direction:
