My local airport station comes close to equaling that big difference.  Its low on May 2nd was 34.  Sunday high 94.  May 2nd low at my station was 39.8.

The very unusually hot weather on Sunday caused a bad wild fire near Guthrie.  It was easy to see the smoke from it to the southwest.  Today's high is put at 101, another all time record breaker.  So far, here, we're paying dearly for last year's less heat and drought breaking rains.

A sad story.  Especially since it started as a controlled burn, and one man died because he refused to evacuate.
