WX forum status tracker
« on: January 20, 2017, 07:27:51 PM »
This is probably a question for Ken,

Ken, Im just curious, do you know what the interval is for which someone is displayed as online?

In particular I mean the situation where someone leaves the forum without logging out, just by leaving the website. It is just that sometimes Im not sure if some person is still around or left long time ago, it seems to me that the interval is probably quite long because I have seen people shown as "online" with last activity about half an hour ago

The online status tracker is currently set at 30 minutes -- after that, the user is shown as 'offline' and does not appear in the 'online user' list.

Thanks for replying Ken, that's what I thought. Do you think it might be worth shortening this a little bit? I was thinking more something like 10-15 minutes. It is not very often that someone would be typing a message or stay on a single forum page for longer than 15 minutes.
I know you can check the last activity time, but it is much easier and faster to just look at the white/green icon next to each person's nick.

It is up to you of course, just a suggestion :)

I decided to make it the same 15 minutes as weather-watch.com forum .. a small foolish consistency :)
