Ambient WS1001 wifi question
« on: January 25, 2015, 03:35:12 PM »
Hi,
Descriptions of the 1001 -wifi station states:
"the display console sends and receives internet data using WiFi connectivity."

I'm trying to understand what data it gets from the 'net.
Is date/time the only info it receives from the internet?
Thanks.

Sunrise/sunset are usually calculated by weather stations, you dont need any connection, this can be done by "simple" math. It is probably only the time, but I dont know how it works in the US, but here in Europe the time is synchronized via radio waves, the transmitter is in Frankfurt, Germany and covers I think most of Europe.

However this is not wifi, so Im not sure how this works in the US, but I would assume it also doesnt use wifi for time synch.
