Did I jump the gun on my Davis purchase?
« on: November 23, 2009, 08:45:28 PM »
Just purchased the Davis Vantage Vue through Ambient today and when I followed their link to software I noticed all the software is for the Vantage Pro and higher end models. Is the internet connect version of this software compatible with my bargain Vantage Vue and Ambient hasn't had time to change the description, or did I buy a station that can not be hooked to my computer or the internet?

As Mark said.  But I'd go ahead and ask Davis the same question... might spur them to update their Web site and save other buyers some grief.

Ambient does not list VWS on the Vue purchase page as a reco within description or "may we also suggest". So they are trying not to mislead.

However as indicated Vue is available in the Beta, so he cant quite add it to "supported" stations on the buy stable version link.  Always a risk when you buy a new-new station.

Anyway it is in the beta, and some are using.  WD also supports the new Vue.   and there is always just using weatherlink till the potential new station/software bugs are worked out.
So you should be ok.

Hi

My Vue works fine connected to my pc with a serial datalogger and Weather Display software. Can't vouch for the Davis windies software as I use Linux but I am sure others can?.

Thanks for all the help. If I understand, some of the suggestions was to dl some freeware that will work. I always like "free".

No problems with my USB datalogger so far. It's the Tuesday Windoz updates that get me.
