what is "best" baud rate for vws and tx wx wr-25
« on: July 29, 2014, 11:05:18 PM »
My Texas Weather Instruments WR-25 tank continues on and I continue using vws v12.08! However, both the pc and the operating systems they are running on have evolved significantly. So I am wondering what the ideal baud rate is to connect the WR-25 to the vws via a dedicated RS-232 serial port.

It is presently set at 19,200 - the fastest supported by this old weather station. I read somewhere though that this might make the data stream susceptible to RF interference, since everything is wireless these days. Would running at a lower baud rate improve reliability? Would it impact the rate at which I can sample the data (vws database is currently set at 1 minute).

Come one all you techies! Any suggestions?
