We enjoyed a grand meeting Saturday.  About 20 people attended from Oglethorpe, Wilkes, Clarke, and Madison counties.  Two speakers gave history, the need to report every day including entering zero rain amounts.  We learned about a CoCoRaHS project in conjunction with the U S Forest Service to experiment and report ice accretion on limbs and structures.  Plenty of social time allowed us to get reacquainted with fellow observers and their weather concerns.
Mr. Gene Beasley won an Acu-Rite 5-in-1 wx station, Mr. Paul Webb won an Acu-Rite 3-in-1 wx station, Ms. Gwen Hirsch, Mr. Walter Britton, and Mr. Kevin Hartley all won Acu-Rite NOAA emergency radios.   Join us again on 12 January 2013 for our 4th annual Oglethorpe CoCoRaHS rain network meeting.
