The exact opposite on the other side of the US coast where temperatures have been 15-30 degrees above normal and are below rainfall amounts for the year 8-)

Here are Sandhill Cranes coming to roost in the Big Bend of the Platte River illuminated by the setting sun.  This has been happening each Spring for at least the past 10 million years, so these guys are a link to the geological, not historical, past.  Just something for the anthropocentrics among us to contemplate.
