Title: PHP script for water temp?
Post by: tbdesigner on July 07, 2009, 12:23:16 PM
This is a "is there a script for this" sort of post.

I'm currently using a widget on a WordPress-powered web site that pulls the current temperature from weather.com, however that's where its capability ends (link to widget I'm now using (http://ja.meswilson.com/blog/2007/05/29/wordpress-weather-widget/)). What I'm really looking for is a script that can pull the current temp for ZIP 33604 plus the water temperature for either Tampa Bay or Clearwater Beach. Or, failing an all-in-one solution, a script that just pulls the water temp data. I don't need a graph or map, just the water temperature in Fahrenheit. Since it's a WordPress blog, I do have PHP on my server, but I'm adaptable to other solutions, too.

Is there an existing script out there to do this or can someone point me in another direction to maybe find a way to display this data?

I realize this is a pretty old post but it's pinned so I gather there must be interests in the subject.  I compiled two separate sources, yahoo weather data api and national weather service.  This is for the Tampa Bay and is really simple but if you need help let me know.
