chief-david looks like our numbers are similar. More snow out here but it was unusually heavy with April blizzard.

Okay, I looked   Cooling degree days:  277

Only had 23 days with a high of =>80.  Just open windows at night and house gets cold, close during day and house stays cool enough.

Now that 2018 is officially in the books, let’s take a look back on the yearly review. Temperatures finished above normal by around 1 degree across the region. The most abnormally warm months were May, June, and September. On the flip side, the coldest months compared to normal were April and November. The lack of mild temperatures during the spring and fall months was incredible! Essentially 2018 went down as the year with only 2 seasons: winter and summer.

As for precipitation, it was a very wet year across much of the eastern half of the country, and the lower Ohio Valley was no exception. Many locations ended up finishing 8 to 12+ inches wetter than normal.  Normal annual precipitation is around 45 to 50 inches, and there were numerous locations that picked up over 60 inches. The highest observed total was 71.44” in Trigg County Kentucky. Paducah, Evansville, and Cape Girardeau all finished in the top 10 wettest years on record. The wettest months compared to normal were February, June, and September.
