Looks like some changes tonight with snow spreading into SD and northern Nebraska too. Looks officially cold with high only 20° on Friday. Those teens for lows have to be on high side. Single digits I expect.

Balmy 24 with gusts to 20 currently.  Probably want to cancel the swim party.

We only got 1" of snow yesterday. NE got the lion's share.

For those who choose to pay any attention at all to the CPC, as of this moment in the space/time continuum, they're calling for the chill to be short lived with the one month and beyond showing 'above normal'.

We are in the upper 30's here in the mid-Hudson Valley of New York, and had two passing moderate snow squalls this morning.  No accumulation, but a reminder that winter is just around the corner.

I never remember the bulk of our leaves still being on the trees after Halloween, and it seems like the trees have been at peak color for a month now.....

No snow, but I'm already sick of the trough that's been sitting over the west, seemingly forever, absolutely zero Autumn here. Looks like I'll be turning on the heater about a month earlier than last year.

First snow of the season in my backyard, around 2 inches.  This is more snow than what fell last winter.  Oklahoma City had close to an inch of snow.  It's the most that city ever had on a Nov. 12.  Lows to get to the mid teens tonight.

As I look at the water vapor imagery, I cannot recall a trough digging as far south as this thing is doing in the west, it's damn near the ITCZ.
I suppose the good thing with this is that it's November and not January.

Maybe an inch in mine.  Fairly early, but I'm not sure if it's any kind of record.  All I want to see for the rest of the Winter though.

This was my backyard yesterday (in Tulsa, to your east) morning at about peak snowfall (mid morning).  As of right now most is gone as we have gotten above freezing.

20 degrees below normal this morning. 7 above; normal 27.

Colder down yonder, had a balmy 10°. It was colder before midnight 9° and just didn't drop anymore with south wind so hovered between 10 and 12 into sunrise.
Noticed 4" soil temperature is below freezing now.

Cold Novembers for us doesn't usually tell the story of the winter to come. In fact one of our coldest turned out to be also one of the warmest winters and vise versa last year we were +4 and had a cold winter.

No surprise, one mans trough is another mans ridge, and I'm ready for a swap. We can barely get into the 60's here, and it's windier than all get-out.

I think I got 1, maybe a little more.  Grass and deck are white, a little on the concrete walk, but blacktop driveway is clear.

4 inches of snow today, was expecting a wintry mix at best. This was a very unusual event for November in the NYC area, too early and caught many off guard, no plows running so the region was effectively paralyzed like southern cities are in snow/ice.

Our first snowstorm here is MA is overperforming.  At the high end of the forecast at my house now (6") and still falling. Probably 2-3 more hours before changeover to mix.
