Question For Rvers
« on: May 21, 2009, 06:40:01 PM »
What do you suggest for portable use on a RV?
Wireless is key, rain gauge not needed just the basics and easy to setup and take down.

Hey Josh, want to keep it under $150. Was looking at the OS WMR90A $129 at Ambient.

Yeah I saw that one but the outside package is kinda large. I was going to take down the pkg and just set it on the bed of my 5th when traveling.

You didn't say if you wanted to hook it up to a computer.  If you don't, here's one for $79.95:

I'd advise getting the radiation shield listed at the bottom of the page, too.  Mount it on a pole, and put it up when ever and where ever you stop.

Google fine offset as they are the Chineese manufacture of these units, poor rain gauge performance but otherwise good budget unit

It's been quite a while since this thread was active but it's my question as well. I'm wondering if anyone has anything new to add since the last post. I already own 2 Davis stations but need something for the field that is compact, wireless, with wind speed and direction.

All replies are greatly appreciated.

I would think for mobile, quick setup and tear down, an all-in-one type of station would be the way to go like  the Vantage Vue or 5N1 type.

Careful buying the cheap stations they have more issues. It would be a Vue for me.
