FOR SALE: Davis VP2 console and PCB's
« on: February 12, 2017, 02:35:31 PM »
After beeing busted by The Norwegian Communications Authority for using a wireless US VP2 in Norway, disturbing the mobile network, I have for sale:
1 pc VP2 console, PN#6312 (ambientweather.com Low Price Quote USD 207,-)
1 pc PCB for Anemometer Transmitter Kit PN#6332
1 pc PCB for ISS Transmitter, PN#6152
The PCB's are now as far as I can see like Davis Instruments 7345-976 PCBA for Wireless ISS or ISS Plus with back shelter housing, US. New from ambientweather.com, USD 177,50)

The console are without powersupply. The PCB's are installed in back shelter housing. No lid.

I bought this in November 2012 and it was OK when I shut it down in May 2015.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

I am amazed that your country gives a thought about interference from other sources.  Here in the US it was a bit like that up until the mid 60s when all of a sudden there was neither interest nor money to track stuff down.  It seems now that want to be amateur radio folks just fire up a rig with no license, or street lights and traffic lights emit broadband signals that swamp out legitimate uses of the spectrum.

Sorry to hear it made you have to get a different unit, and someone will get a nice deal from you, I'm sure.

I just hope that the whole attitude of anything goes here in the US comes around to following rules without having to made a federal case of it.

Good luck on your sale. Dale

Guess it all depends on what it was interfering with.

in this case commercial FM broadcast.  Complaint was taken, filed down the list and never followed up.
