Delayed rain readings VPII
« on: August 21, 2008, 09:35:52 AM »
I have noticed that whenever it rains that the rain rate and daily rain readings are very slow to respond. After a rain shower stops, it still shows rain readings for nearly a 2 hours later! The amounts shown are accurate, but it almost seems like the console is cacheing the information and letting it go VERY slowly. I cannot find anything amiss in the setup. My archive interval is set for 30 minutes if that has anything to do with it.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Have you checked your rain gauge funnel for debris plugging the hole at the bottom?

You were exactly right SLOweather! I was looking for all kinds of software bugs and checking reception etc., when it was just some crud in the bottom of the funnel.

Sometimes it's the simple things that elude us the most!  ](*,)

Thank you for helping me!

You're welcome!

One other thing that may bite you in the future is spider webs stopping the bucket from tipping inside the funnel housing.

Yep!
That is the first thing I check if things are going along fine and then start to slow down!
