I have noticed that none of my GR3 images uploaded to my web site are displaying the legends on the left of the image.
I have tried resizing but they still are not visible. However if I do a image save with just radar directly from GR3 the legends are visible.
I read about this happening awhile back and that the problem was slated to be corrected in a later release. I updated to the latest version and still no go. Hi Wayne,
You have not missed anything. It has not been fixed. I ended up using the snipping tool and made a clean copy of my dBz scale, then uploading it as a picture next to the radar image.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! Good to know when we get a few other bugs worked out the problems doesn't fall on us LOL!
I guess uploading so many images I'll have to come with a change for each product to get a valid legend.

I have been looking at your radar page. Nice site!!!! Since the drop down list is a single page and not individual pages for each radar type, you are going to have an issue with multiple separate radar legends with your radar page.

Thanks for the suggestion to juxtapose the DBZ scale with the GR3 images! I hope you don't mind that I've borrowed your scale and incorporated it, while giving you credit, into my GR3 HaniS animation script (https://www.gwwilkins.org/wxgr3hanis-dbZ.php). One little 'gotcha' is that the DBZ scale doesn't belong alongside a Dual-Pole Radar image, but I think I've taken care of this.
The revised script is available on my scripts page (https://gwwilkins.org/gwwScripts.php) as is still the original script.

Not a problem at all. Glad to help. I am attaching the "P type" winter scale I use as well and the actual color table that matches the scale. I have another radar page I rename when there is going to be Winter weather in Arkansas.

I've added a '$winter' setting to enable the Winter DBZ scale. We're currently experiencing and/or anticipating winter weather, so it's appropriate.

All sorts of weird things have taken place since I started on the DBZ issue. We were doing some work today and all of a sudden we kept getting denied when we would log in to FTP and half the folders were denied to me and the rest of the world too. Strange for sure but it seems to have corrected itself as I can log in now at 3AM Eastern but too tired now to do anything about it LOL!!

Thanks for helping us through the muddy waters of the gr3 legend issue! I've been growing old waiting for a "fix" to the program that does not seem to be forthcoming. Jerry, you'd really hit a home run if the legends changed to the appropriate ones as the radar product changed via the drop-down menu. (I have many of them in jpg format if you feel like playing :lol: )

That might be a good project for today since I'm snowed in (more by choice since I don't want to wander out in a snowstorm) today. I'm not sure how they would apply, but you can steer me in the right direction. Good old MS Paint works well for resizing and converting formats since I'm using .png's.
One caveat is that right now I'm seeing snowfall but the radars are all in rainfall mode. How and when do they change over to the appropriate DBZ scale? Are we chasing our tails here?

Good question on the changeover. Since that requires us to press the "T" button on the GR3 menubar, then remember to change the dBscale on the website, you can't use the radar type as a help because both upload with br1 (e.g. koax_br1) in them.

I'm thinking that you have the rain vs. snow issue tackled already with the legend you are using now. I was more interested in changing the legend when the visitor selects a different product via the drop-down menu. This way the appropriate legend for that product will be loaded along with that products images.

By-and-large these DBZ scales make much more sense! I may tweak the size of the DBZ scales a bit, but not right now.

I have been playing around with it a little on a test folder on my web server and seems everything is fine except if I change the radar type from the drop down box the radar type actually disappears. The radar type remains on BR1
I'm guessing the script was wrote for root placement but I'm doing it this way so as to not mess up the current radar I have running.

Indeed the script should reside in your server's root directory! All calling references are written this way. While you could revise the scripts to allow them to be placed in their own sub-directory, it isn't exactly a trivial exercise.
I would suggest placing the wxgr3hanis-dbZ scripts in your root directory so all of the internal references and sub-directory calls such as /HAniS/ and /images/ will be correct. It's very unlikely that you will interfere with any existing scripts or radar displays by doing so.
