Could be that you didnt select language at all, go to Control panel and click the Check for errors link and see if it finds any problems

Hi, IE11 has about 13% market share, theres the other section where folks may be using earlier IE versions too

Unbelievable, you would have to pay me to use it...

Anyway, so the question is, what to do now. If I use it, 13% of users will have a problem (solvable problem...), and 87% users, including mobile ones, will have a nice page. If not, everyone will have something, but not always nice.

:-) dont be a defeatist Jachym work on it this is what you call laziness  :-) !! it doesn't matter wether you recommend it or not make your template work in everything , you will be better respected by those that know a thing or two about web design . nothing is easy you just need to concentrate on getting your template working across all platforms you spend too much time pumping out add-ons and not dealing with the design flaws . don't be angry 4 weeks ago i went to a school to arrange a setup of 2 weather stations and have them on the net , we went through around 15 of your users list and not one displayed well on a iPad , the IT guy was disappointed as it had all the features the students could use but the problem is every student is issued an iPad its one of there educational tools . they opted for Ken Saratoga template for there educational purpose and my template for general use because it was essential to have everything functional on the iPad and Safari. don't ignore it Jachym what not may be of use to you or popular in your country it is certainly popular elsewhere ..i really hope you nail it in terms of design and please fix that menu its a nightmare on any IOS device ..

user experience is critical Jachym and like it or not many companies using windows as a working tool use internet explorer and many companies using MAC use safari..

dont put a message out there this site is not useable on IE it just forcing the issue and basically saying install another browser ..so anyone who uses your template offers nothing to a casual user who may be looking for the weather in a particular location..

one day i hope to be able to use your template with my devices and computer hardware..as it stands now I cant or I can in a limited way ..

flexbox has been around for a while in different forms began in 2011 !! its lighter than using a bootstrap

 -ms-flexbox

don't be offended its time to work on the design !

Hi Brian,
I am well aware of the fact MT does not work well on practically any Apple device, I am not trying to find excuses, but you have to understand that it is like me asking you to develop stuff for something where you cannot test, never see the result... it is close to impossible. As you know yourself, Safari cannot be installed on any device other than an Apple device, not to mention the fact that Safari on iPhone and Ipad might produce different results compared to desktop Safari. If I had an iPad and was able to see the result, I could probably do something about it. Like this... very unlikely, and even if someone sends me a screenshot, it is not that helpful, I can change something, but we are back again in a situation where I cannot see whether the change made any difference. Emailing with someone with an iPad back and forth is absolutely inefficient and will not work in long term anyway.
You are in a sense right, but you look at it from a perspective of a company that offers a product. My situation is slightly different. With very outdated hardware I develop a page primarily for myself (or rather I should say, originally primarily for myself), which others can use if they want to, given I can never guarantee it will work or display nicely. I am not a programmer, I have limited resources, and very limited time, especially when over 50% of the time now goes towards support. With regards to adding new stuff - again, this is now almost exclusively done on direct requests from people. Again, I know you might see this as an excuse, but Im just saying what the current circumstances are and based on experience, it is unlikely to change anytime soon.

Your template is great in that it is very simple and concentrates on that one single page, which on the other hand can be made to perfection. For some this is exactly what they are looking for. Others might prefer more things at the expense of it not always being 100% correctly displayed, and then they might opt for MT. Not once did I recommend your template to people when they thought setting up MT was too complicated. It is simply an alternative.

With 750 users you will never be able to please everyone. Never, especially not in a situation Im in.

However thanks a lot for your feedback and with regards to IE, I never said I will make this change which would result in non-functional page in IE. With regards to Safari - it was obviously never the case I would intentionally make it unusable on iPads etc., there is simply nothing I can do about it, just think about how many hours you spend testing and tweaking yourself and in your case, basically just that one page. It takes time and it requires certain HW and SW to do it. I do the best I can. One particular thing I know does not work in Safari is one of the gauges blocks (fortunately there is an alternative). But when i asked those people if they could at least try to see if they can diagnose the problem, I never got any useful feedback, again putting me into a position where I see something working fine, and being unable to replicate the problem, thus unable to solve it - fixing something that to me works perfectly fine.

ok it looks like you not seeing the point of view , you can fix it Jachym it takes time in your case its gonna take some time . but think about the end result , you could start now and in a few months you could have it done . nothing is instant , design it from the ground up  if you don't do it then its never going to get fixed is it ? then your in the same boat as internet explorer use-age . I'm not comparing it to what I do there is no point and doesn't fix anything or help you .

seriously start now and in a few months you will be a happy man probably many more users . you have finally found flexbox and there are alternatives .

I just want to see it looking cool and have that wow factor and complete user experience ..nothing else.. brian

I don't use Internet Explorer, but I do use an iPad, so for me the answer would be obvious--but it's not all about me, of course.  However bad of a browser it is, IE is still used quite a bit, and breaking compatibility with it would be a bad thing.

FWIW, the mobile page shows fine on my iPad in portrait mode, and the desktop page is fine in either portrait or landscape mode.  It's the mobile page in landscape mode that has a problem.

I know, it auto-opens the menu on iPads. I have seen about 10 screenshots of it which ppl sent me. However, when I go to the mobile page, from any device I have available, it works... and so it is frustrating, but I cannot do anything, I cannot fix something which I see as working fine. No user has so far been able to at least partially try to find the issue and tell me "I think the problem is....". I honestly admit that in this particular case, I have no idea what is wrong and no idea how to fix it.

I completely agree with what Brian said, he is absolutely right, I will not use Flexbox, unless I find a solution to make it work on IE (saying something only works in XYZ browsers is a very bad practice), I also agree that time should first be spent with making things work rather than spending time with adding stuff, on the other hand at this point I know that trying to fix this with my current knowledge of programming and most importantly, with the description of the problem I have, would be just pure waste of time as it would lead nowhere. The menu has many lines of code and practically anything could be added to that script - some JS code, some CSS...

Just a note to thank Brian from Weather Display and Jachym for the ability to create MT logfiles.  My Router failed and updates were not happening.  I was able to restore the data from Weather Display and I'm a happy camper.

Anybody still using a non-API software (IE Cumulus..yes, I know I need to switch...) who also uses cron-job.org able to reach the site?  I cannot from any of my machines, nor from work.  I can ping it, but it times out when I try to access it.  Until I get my SW updated, I still need to work with my cron but I have not been able to access the site for over a week...

Hmmm   #-o
I mean my job still runs, so that is good.  But I need to get in there and edit it to conform with what MT needs so that all my blocks will update correctly.  No idea why it continuously times out.
