I have MESONET download on interval, and occassionally, the ''numeric background'' color activates the ''Spectrum Color'' option.  This occurs even though the ''Spectrum Color'' option is not selected.  After the numeric background activates, it can be cleared by selecting, then deselecting the ''Spectrum Color'' option.

That will fix it too, but either method used does not prevent it from re-occurring.

Figured I'd post a screen shot.  The ''Numeric Background'' ''Spectrum Color'' around the PWSs obs is not selected.

Had to fall back to p50.  Along w/ the above prob, the MESONET map was not updating even though it showed that it has updated the time under WUNDERGRND/MESONET SETTINGS.  The 'last update'' time would show a recent update time, but the MESOMAP and MESONET Table are blank.  Sometimes another MESONET retrieval would correct this.  This, and the above problem started after updating to p57 from p50.
After falling back, the problem has not re-surfaced.

I've seen that a couple times too.  It may be due to GDI resources.

GDI is responsible for drawing lines and curves, fonts, palettes.

Reduced GDI resources in use by VWS by curbing the amount of graphs/alfa numerics.
This might be just a coincidence, but the problem has not resurfaced.  I don't think it has anything to do w/ a diff ver, unless wmr trouble logging was using more resources w/ my settings in the previous ver and is probably specific to my usage.

I suspected a few days ago that display problems in Vws might be the cause for the mesomap problems I was having; per the problem report documented in the Ambient/Beta child thread.

What started presumption was the fact that the mesomap problems only occured after VWS was running.  Clicking on ''update'' or deselecting a checkmrk in the map settings pane would temporarily fix it.

So, before the software developer recommended I not use every field in the mesomap settings setup, I made note of the GDI resources used by vws.  Before I started discarding unuseful graphs/alfa numerics, I was at 513.  I would decrease the number by 2 or 3, then wait an hr; as the mesomap problems would resurface w/in 10 min.  Finally, I made it to 496 when the problems stopped; which ended up only being 2 graphs and 4 alfa numerics.

Today, I added my still from my webcam to the broadcast display, and the problems started again.  The GDI resources were at 504.  I removed a few more alfa's and the problem ceased.

Call it coincidence, but I don't think so.
