Envoy Firmware 1.9
« on: February 27, 2010, 01:44:56 PM »
Did anyone see if Davis had the 1.90 update for the wireless Envoy?  I didn't see it the last time I was there.

There is one in their toolbox, but I don't know if that is a beta and I can't afford to screw the envoy up.

It was on the site but got removed after they realized it was bugged (I can confirm it was  ;)
Now you can read in red "VERSION 1.90 REMOVED FOR FURTHER TESTING" in the 1.82 readme.

Some 1.9 firmware is on the davis site again. Has anyone updated their wireless?

I wrote Davis  about the wireless, and the reply was that it was buggy.

After accidentally installing the 1.90 cabled firmware on my Wireless Envoy (which the Wireless Envoy WILL load.... you just won't get any external readings). I quickly downloaded the 1.90 wireless firmware, not realizing that Davis had since pulled it from their site.

The 1.90 firmware was pretty buggy. Any request for weather data would cause the Envoy to time out. Also, no data was being sent to weatherlink.com.

I re-downloaded the 1.82 wireless firmware to my envoy and all was good again.

So yeah I'd wait until Davis puts an updated firmware on their site.

The 1.90 firmware for wireless envoys is back on the davis' site. I've installed it, it works fine with firmware 1.08 on my ip logger.

So, if you were to call Davis about a problem with 1.90 firmware, how would Davis know which 1.90 you have?

Is that the Envoy direct PC install version or the one that requires the updater hardware from Davis?

The Direct PC Install one. No updater needed.
