No more rapid fire updates?
« on: September 18, 2017, 03:14:26 PM »
So, when did Weather Underground decide to drop Rapid Fire updates? I'm now seeing station data only refresh once an hour or so. Not good.

I think they are down Kevin. Strange behavior started for me just over an hour ago. How you doing Buddy?

My station page has crashed and burned as well. Data for the day looks very strange and gibbled up. Hopefully just a glitch during an upgrade. Will watch and wait just like I did last week when FTP for the webcam suddenly vanished for two days, without notice  ](*,)

Mine as well. I'm getting a "Station not reporting" error. And the graphs are all over the place.  ](*,)

LOL - I am sick of WU.

NO support.

Reduced feature set.

Like you folks, I have put a lot of time and money into this "hobby" -- FOR WHAT?  To provide good data to a network of PWS that improves forecasts and records.

I feel duped.

Somebody should remind WU, WC, TWC, IBM exactly WHY WU's website is so popular!

Seriously.

My Wunderground map... https://maps.wunderground.com/wundermap/ --Has not worked for weeks. Rapid fire is no more if you use the other Wundermap which is horrible.

Mine is working properly.
Davis VP2 (cabled) Uploading to PWS, Weather Underground, Weathercloud, WOW, WeatherBug, AWEKAS and Twitter, using Cumulus.  Cabled = fewer problems, less maintenance and better reliability!

I am finished worrying about what WU does. That is why I have my own site.

Would someone other than me, contact Bob Henson at WU and ask him?

Right now I am updating my iphone and ipad  and want to monitor that

Does anyone know if the rapid fire updates are gone for good, or is this still just them "working on it"

I should of asked if anyone's forecast page is rapid fire updating, Am I just getting old and think that I remember the forecast page before all of these improvements started would update. In other words I would have both my main WU page open and the forecast page also. I'm sure I remember the forecast page updating regularly, now it just sits there and falls behind by hours and can only be updated if refreshed.

It's not you.  Mine does the same thing (Chrome on Win10x64).  The little "last updated" timer runs but the auto-refresh of the actual data is broken.  Typical WU programming.  IBM should be ashamed of themselves.

Time zone MALF still happens, sometimes.  Using WxDisplayHistory.asp server script, each record returned has local time 1st, gmt last.  Checked a number of stations in a fairly small region of NCentralOR (KOR*). A few are in the correct pst time zone (gmt - 8), but more have been teleported to est (gmt - 5).
