Folks, in my perception magiraffe is hunting a practical, "appliance" solution, and she is being confused by too much information.

I advised "There are two versions of the package (for your practical purposes)."

If you disagree with that advice, please say so clearly.

Ok...lets see if I understand this...Davis 6510 USB
1. The data logger plugs into my console and the other end I need a cable to plug into
the comp USB from the data logger...is this USB the same thing I use to charge
my mp3 etc....Do I need to buy a cable or does it come with the data logger..
2. This data logger also has the weather link with it.
3. I need the weather link to set up a page on my comp..
4. I will be able to see my page on my tablet but anything I do to my page I
have to do on my comp..
5. My comp will need to be on 24/7...what happens if we lose electricity or it
accidently gets shut off?
6. What did I miss that I shd know??

Ever heard of scientific sales...price is 118.48 shipped...archer trading post is 154.00 shipped
They both say Davis 6510USB so I am assuming they are the same???

Yes you need the logger (hardware) and some software (Weather link) provided with the logger

Ahh maybe not that simple. Depends on your tablets capabilities. you will have to use WL to upload to some site. Generally Weather Underground. WL will do this for you. Then your tablet should be able to read the data from WU.
This part will require you to get it working and then decide what is the best way to do what you want to do.

Yes it needs to be on... But the logger has built in memory and can remember the data for a long time (exactly how long depends on your settings but at minimum several days)

A 6510 USB is a 6510 USB buy for best price I have bought from Scientific Sales

/my 6510 usb arrived today...so I will now try to figure how to do this...and in the correct order..I have read stuff about

HELP...I am attempting to connect my weather link & I am at auto download and I don't know what to put....I guess at this point I was expecting minutes, hours etc....but it has every hour for 24 hours so I don't know what to do...ty Nancy

In that auto download box there is a small spot on the middle right that says "Download At" and you can fill in your own time(s) to do it.

FWIW, my WU uploads seem to stop occaisonally. No idea if it is WU or something at my end. But whenever I check my end is working. Maybe it is some sort of quality or server issue at WU?
