I use Macrium Reflect but why not have a free copy of something else.

I have Reflect as well, but AFAIK it won't work in Win8/10.  BTW,  whatever you do, DO NOT EVER use Acronis TrueImage.  Absolute garbage.

Lots of backup programs out there, problem is finding one that actually works when needed. Many are garbage but Reflect does work.

I changed it... it was supposed to be exactly the other way around ... People either havent lost their data yet, or they make backups

Windows based Cloudmark Desktop Email spam filter upgrade to pro version is free for limited time. Doesn't mention its free until you do the upgrade. I tried  SPAMfighter Pro and another one that stunk. This one so far is doing the job, nothings got through last couple hours and runs in the background 

I needed something that worked with Windows Live mail, it configured itself so easy setup.  Somehow I got on someones spam list a couple weeks ago and started getting spam every 5-10 minutes or so.

And I would say just the opposite.  It saved my butt just this week.  Drive crashed completely.  Acronis restored the full drive from a backup including partitions and operating system to a new drive.

Glad it worked for you.  I bought two licenses and it was a complete disaster.  No support, non-functional, no bare metal support etc.

There may be some difference.  I got mine from Western Digital that is a custom version free to anyone with a WD drive.

No support needed, worked smooth as butter.

I have to use Acronis in a professional capacity, and I quite like it. although it is a bit tricky to use if you haven't been shown how.

Glad it worked for you.  I used to do this sort of thing professionally for a living and without a doubt Acronis was the worst software (and company) I ever came across.

I recently received a PM asking what SW I use for creating icons etc.

Since I have Linux I use GIMP, but I do find it a bit counter-intuitive and if I was using Windows I would probably not use it.

The obvious choice is Photoshop, however, it also comes at a price.

A nice alternative is the Zoner Photo Studio, which also has a very sophisticated photo and image editor. The basic version is free, however, from time to time they also have a promotion where they offer the Pro version for free for a limited period of time.
