Davis Vantage Pro2 lost signal
« on: October 30, 2017, 06:30:50 PM »
Hi folks,

My Davis Vantage Pro2 suddenly stopped receiving data from the ISS. When I hold down the TEMP button and press the DEW button to get the diagnostics screen, I get all zeros. Can anyone step me through troubleshooting to see if I have a console issue or an ISS issue?

Thank you!

Initial steps:

1.  Determine if the ISS is likely transmitting.  Install a new battery in the ISS, turn on DIP switch 4, and verify that the LED indicator light on the SIM is flashing every 2.5 seconds.  Then turn switch 4 off.

2.  Take the console as near to the ISS as practical, and see if that helps.

3.  Refer to Troubleshooting Wireless ISS Reception in your ISS Installation Manual (starts on Page 10 in most of those manuals).

Try a different channel.  Mine stopped transmitting and it turns out another guy down the street bought a Vantage Pro2 and we were on the same channel.  He was just far enough away to mess me up but not send me his data.
