Recommendations for off grid station with GSM transmitter?
« on: June 07, 2017, 03:06:32 PM »
Hello,

I have an off-grid cabin and I would like to find a weather station which:

- Measures and logs temperature at ground level and 1m off the ground, humidity, pressure, wind speed and direction, rainfall, sun light intensity.
once per 30 minutes is enough.

- Has its own solar power source and battery, or able to connect to existing 12v/24v solar power system.

- Able to transmit data using a 3G/4G sim card, or connect to a raspberry pi which will transmit the data using 3g/4g sim card module.

Bonus features:
Would be nice to have a camera.

There are no budget limitations.
Does a product like that exist off the shelf on the market, or will I have to fabricobble together some contraption from several components?

Many thanks!
FinnishWeather.

A Davis ISS (eg 6334) and Connect unit can do all this (except for the camera, which would need to be organised independently).
Prodata Weather Systems
Prodata's FAQ/support site for Davis stations
Includes many details on 6313 Weatherlink console.
UK Davis Premier Dealer - All Davis stations, accessories and spares
Cambridge UK

Sorry, but I don't usually have time to help with individual issues by email unless you are a Prodata customer. Please post your issue in the relevant forum section here & I will comment there if I have anything useful to add.

Hey Bushman,
it doesn't seem like their webpage is ready yet.

There are no prices listed anywhere, also from what I see this is just a transmitter meant to work with Davis instruments, so it's essentially the same the Davis connect? Or did I understand incorrectly?
Thanks!
