the beteljuice is experimenting with some code for various topocentric Moon data.
ie. As seen by the observer.
So when (to the casual visitor) is New Moon ?
Various sites / progs will calculate it to the second, but ....
In an ordinary calendar, Full Moon is the local day in which that moment occurred.
Further - the chances are any (numbered) moon graphic will be covering the 'moonday' (which is NOT the same as the local day) and thus will display Full Moon +/- 12 hours of the moonday cycle.
or yet another way of looking at it is a 24 hour period = 3.75% of illumination (98.214% > 1.785%)
So ... regardless of the graphic, when do you 'feel' you should be advised it's a Full (New) Moon ?
