Well for now I'm sticking to GRLevel3 for my needs. I can get model & satellite data free in many locations and from what I see with the trial version of Pro the Nexrad Radar which I'm most interested in and its tracking function, cell attributes are missing or not working unimpressed.

For those using GRLevel3 XX you must upgrade to 2.50 soon, June 15 the NWS public URL changes or use a paid service like Allisonhouse.

THAT is a serious bummer, as I used to use version 1.9 on my website. Now, 2.5 is on there, but it uses more bandwidth. Oh well.

If you can afford Allisonhouse you can still use older versions. Apparently the new URL will only affect those not using a paid service. I'm not using any paid service so 2.5 it is. For my limited knowledge of dissecting storm cells, GRLevel3 works great as long as I can look at cell attributes and track.

I'm half-tempted to get an AH sub because I still use the old version of GR2 (The $80 version). I'll wait a little and see if any fixes are made.

Hi Joseph,

Unless they've changed something, the Level 2 stuff came from Iowa State, both GR2 and GR2AE (both versions).
GR2AE, GR3, Cumulus

That's true! I did not consider that (It's been years since I've had to configure polling). With GR3 being affected, I figured GR2 would be the same. Boy, that is great to hear!

"Out-of-the-Box" -  =D> How accurate is the WS3V CORE platform?  \:D/
Pretty dang well on target:  - and no subscriptions:

For experimentation, these images were driving off an HP:500-56, WSV3 screen video captured with "SparkoCam", into Webcam 7 Pro Server, (at 800x450px) which is also directly driving 3 Hikvision 2032s at 1024x576... hence the high CPU usage (71%)... all of which are / will be / streamed live to website on demand...(or by "Event', in case of the radar, I don't plan to 'stream' it 24/7)... we'll see.

There are a couple of noticed GIS layer erratics , for example the Kentucky River is missing from River tiles, though the 2 South eastern branches are present, and I noticed a couple of 'towns' that appear to be geographically at loose ends, ah, well..  can't be perfect all the time.

Need FAST level3?  I have a complete NOAAport I could sell you ;)  The dish is over 12' so no matter how hard it is raining or snowing.  You'll still get the information you need.

Not sure most likely can be transferred but I would find out for sure.
If you are looking for Nexrad Doppler Radar this is a lot of money.
Most everything is already free through the .Gov and other web sites. This has convection outlook and much more http://digital.weather.gov/    And if model forecast are wanted sites like http://www.twisterdata.com/index.php?prog=home&page=tutorial have several models minus the popular Euro unfortunately.

For radar I use GRlevel3 which I purchased and works great for fraction of cost. I'm not expert enough to even use GRlevel2 so I don't miss it.  But this is just me I'm sure others understand the software much more.

I have GR3 right now also. But mine I will have to update and I was just looking at other ways I could go right now. But like you said its a lot of money. I may just give up the radar thing and just put a link or something to a local radar site around me.

thanks for the info.

I must admit I dont quite understand the point of this SW, given that I would say 99% of this is available on the internet for free, and given we are really not absolute professionals, I dont see this as a good value for money.

People like the ability to customize and make it look like THEIR program if that makes sense. For example, putting your own logo on an image makes the software appear completely unique to you and your website. I admit that for a little while I was on that craze. But, I have GR3 which I love, and my Christmas gift every year is GREarth, so I cannot go wrong there

I am still on that craze...But I do have GR3 also....and for just a little bit of money I can update it so it will not die. But it don't have all the things that WSV3 has....I know it would if I got GREarth but the price of that kind of shocked me also.....I will just most likely give up on the WSV3 program soon and just stick with gr3

I just need a 2nd job for my hobby

Yes, I see your point, if one can afford it, it is great. Though if it was only the logo that can be done very easily using any software, even PHP can do that :D

Hi Jachym

I think it depends where you live, in Denmark we don´t have that available, unless we pay for it at DMI.dk
I know Meteox and YR.no - but they are in no way the same visual quality, but can be used and I do :-)

But expensive it is....

Hang on, I thought this was only for the U.S., I watched the video and everything was always just showing the U.S., so does this include the whole world?

It is for US only at the moment, but if he had acces to data in Europe, he would gladly add it.
I have reccomended him to look at Meteox and YR.no, if any other are better, that would even better :-)

I believe I read its for one computer but you can un-register the computer and then register a different one with the license code.

Although I'm just an amateur enthusiast I may purchase it.

I'm testing the 911 version [Here]
