Failing Midland WR-100
« on: July 19, 2012, 12:53:42 PM »
Hi, over the last year or so I have noticed my Midland WR-100 acting funny, a few times last spring it was going off for warnings that didn't apply to my county and a long ways away (I only have it programmed for my county), then earlier this year I noticed it had missed a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for my county, then just yesterday it missed the weekly test. I have pretty good signal, there is just a tiny bit of static, I have had it for at least 3 years, is 3 years about all you get out of these? Do you have to have perfect reception to receive alerts, because it does have a little bit of static but you can still hear everything loud and clear. I just ordered a Reecom R1630, it looks a lot better since it has EOM and you can program the alerts you want.
