Hurricane Gordon is approaching the Azores as a Cat2, possibly Cat3 storm.  The last Hurricane Gordon in 2006 followed a nearly identical track at nearly identical strength, but weakened before striking.

Gordon '12 may become the strongest storm on record for the region.

It is kind of odd with all the similarities between the two. If this one follows along the previous Gordon 06's path then Ireland can expect some activity from it. ("I'm back!" )
